EGS 2017

EGS 2017

In 1942, a group of jewellery and gemstone specialists, led by Prof. Dr. Eduard Gübelin, founded the Swiss Gemmological Society with the aim of promoting the gemmological knowledge of its members and keeping them informed by means of further education annually.

The Swiss Gemmological Society provides the professional training and further education of its members, by means of a two-day central conference annually, which is further supplemented by two-day regional seminars, later in the year.

Professionals from the gemstone, jewellery and watch industries, gemmological laboratories and other interested parties can become members of the Swiss Gemmological Society.

The Society is Divided into 7 Regional Groups:

  • Suisse Romands
  • Bern
  • Basel-Solothurn-Aargau and Central Switzerland
  • Zurich
  • East Switzerland / Liechtenstein
  • Ticino

Each regional group is represented by a regional leader who organises the regional seminars and provides interested parties with information on the society.
